About the Author
Jan Millsapps, Ph.D., is a pioneering digital filmmaker and a versatile and accomplished writer. She has produced films, videos, digital and interactive media on subjects ranging from domestic violence to global terrorism, and has published in traditional print and online venues. She has been a featured blogger on Apple’s Learning Interchange and a contributing editor for the online, rich media journal, “Academic Intersections.” Her first novel Screwed Pooch, about the Soviet canine space pioneer Laika, was published in 2007. She holds degrees in fine arts and English, a doctorate in rhetoric/composition, and a certificate in cosmology. She is Professor of Cinema at San Francisco State University, where she teaches digital filmmaking, web cinema and screenwriting.
